Oil speedo?
Is it possible to oil a speedometer? Mine is grinding, sticking, making noises. I thought it was the cable, but after putting a new cable on, it is still doing the same thing. Or should I just get another speedo?

Take it out of the dash and use some 3in1 oil on it, that's what I did to mine and it works fine now!

Where do I use the oil? I tried spraying some WD40 into where the cable goes, but no difference. Do I have to take the speedo apart? Jim

No, just pull it out from the dash and you will see the little gears, put some oil on them and into the speedometer hole, and on the metal shaft where it meets the metal housing, that should work for ya!
Also did you lube the new cable when you put it in?

Ok, I'll do that. I was trying not to have to take it out of the dash. No, I didn't lube the new cable. Actually, when I found it wasn't the cable, I reinstalled the old. But, I did spray some silicone spray into the cable housing before reinstalling.

Also something that works very well for the cable is roller moly chain lube it's black in color and very slick!
