What gear is in my '71?

My truck is a base model, originally 6 cylinder, 3 OTT truck. 1/2 ton SWB. For some reason I'm thinking it has a 4.11 but wanted to bring it to the pros. What say you?

It has a TH350 tranny and I'm thinking I'll keep it (once I confirm it's mechanically sound) and run a higher gear for highway speeds.

Re: What gear is in my '71?

Probably 3.73 gears were stock unless listed different on the SPID. I am sure others will post more information.

Nothing on the SPID. 3.73 would be nice with a 200/700r4. Hmmmmm!

Won't a 200r4 bolt up relatively easy to the existing th350 crossmember and driveshaft length?

You can see if this thread will help. See post #8 for the possible code # location depending on what type of rear you have.
