temp.gauge trouble

the temp.gauge worked,till the green wire grounded out,after I fixed the bad place in the wire it never worked again,what can I do,thanks in advance

Is it pinned out of range and stuck? Or within operating range and just dead?

also look at the runs on the back of the flex-circuit. One may have opened up.

what do you mean,one of the copper runs on the circuit board came apart,if so does that mean circuit board is no good,thanks

measure them with an ohm meter. If they show open, they can be jumped with a small wire.

Having the green wire grounded would give a reading of full hot. If you have an open in the wire or your fix is no good the gauge would read hot all the time. Providing you have power on the hot side with the key on.

If you have an open circuit on the hot side of the gauge it would freeze at the last reading before the open. You need to check for power on the gauge with the key on, on the hot terminal.
