how about a piece of translucent plexiglass with color like truck, then put some lights behind it. or put a hi-tech stereo speaker behind plexiglass with holes drilled in it. or, cover door with a piece of plastic chrome and pin stripes? I know, not conventional. could try something on a extra glove box, and save original

If you had another dash, you could put the dash where the glove box door is with all gages and stick a dummy steering column and wheel on. that would freak people out...
