In for ideas as well. I've seen the drink holder and considering doing that myself.

Re: Ash tray ideas

I have a plan to eliminate the ashtray, enlarge the radio depression-opening to accept a double DIN radio. The pieces are cut, waiting on the work bench.

I've just been reluctant to cut into my virgin dash. Dang, this forum is getting in my head.....

Re: Ash tray ideas

Well I think mine is just faithfully carrying 2 or 3 cigarette butts from my grandpa, and he died in the early 80s lol. Between the long sloped dashboard, bench seat, and long bed I have no need to use the ashtray for anything.

I could see it being used to hold a cell phone or maybe make it into a cubby hole.

I like a dash with no ashtray at all. Cut it out with a 3 inch cut-off wheel, weld in a new piece the same size, dress the weld, prime and paint. I got so carried away I deleted the Radio too! What could be easier?

Re: Ash tray ideas

I made a custom bracket with my laser cutter that grabs the front face of the ashtray to hold me satellite radio. Works great and the tray is still available for change.
