Re: Vintage Air System Problem

Donaldo, we screwed in (4 screws) a piece of flat steel to the same two firewall interior pieces you used. It is a piece of channel. We did it because the firewall bolt mentioned in the instructions was not on my truck and we did not want to put a hole for a bolt through the firewall. We attached a 1/4" bolt through this piece of flat steel and attached the condensor to this bolt. If I can leave it in the position it is suppose to be in I would like to leave it there because I want to hide it as much as possible. I like your idea because it allows you to use the glove box. I will probably modify my glove box to a short one and still have an area to put my sun glasses. Thanks for sharing your information with me. I may call Vintage Air Tuesday to see if they have heard this problem before and what they plan on doing about it. I still say if they had a defrost vent with an L shape it would solve a lot of problems. But of course they probably do not care what any of us think.
