Re: my 86 prostreet c10
dont like the idear of a bed cover ether, but right now it sits out in the weather, and with the sun shining on the cell really heats the gas up. and when it rains i dont know if water gets into the fuel. i put a piece ply wood on the cell to keep the water off of it, but that is starting to be a headache.

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
I recently bought those same seats to put in mine but they arnt fitting just right, they sit alittle high andtIe mounts hang over the ''hump'' in the floorboard. What did you end up doing to make them fit as good as they do? Thanks

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
i built a box out of 1'' angle for it to sit in. first the seat slider had to go. so it is custom fit to my height. then i had to cut the seat brackets to get it to the right height in the truck. and the mounting points are welded to the 1'' angle. i will take some close up pics.

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
Thanks for the close ups that helps a lot. THe seats I have had electric adjustments, did yours have that? RIght now I have the bottom pad you sit on and the back pad seperated because I figured I would have to ditch the electric part (makes the seats to high) which is what held the two together. Now I'm trying to figure out how to build a bracket to hold them like a complete seat if you know what I mean lol. Once I figure that out I was thinking about using the old sliders from the bench seat and somehow connecting the bucket seats and console to it. Does yours have any adjustments with the way you have it, like forward or backwards? Love the way they look can't wait to get mine in, and thanks for the help. Love your truck btw.

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
there is no adjustment. i just mounted them to fit my hieght. besides nobody else drives it but me,lol. what i did was took the adjusters off of the seats and welded them to the frame i built. then i cut the legs down on the center console, to fit the hieght of the seats. and one more thing, had to modify the floor to make the frame sit flush. drew up a sketch to give you an idear on the frame i built. hope it helps

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
Ok thanks man they look good. I'm hoping I can make mine adjustable but like you said I'm the only one driving my truck to. What did you do as far as leaning the seats forward and backwards or can you not access behind them now. I kinda want to put a speaker box behind mine so I'm hoping I can get em to lean. If I cant come up with a way to make them slide I'm doing it like yours. Also I was wondering how hard it was to weld the center console legs, there alittle thin did that make it hard?

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
Your truck is looking great!!! What is the present color called and what are you planning on changing it to? The raised wood bed idea would look good too. Maybe just below flush with the cell? Then it and the tubs would still be exposed.

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
the color is torch red. although my camera cant seem to get it right. it will go back the same color. i was thinking the same thing, its best of both worlds. can get the fuel cell out of the weather and still show off the tubs. and by the way, your truck looks great to, love the blower set up. cant go wrong with eye candy.

Re: my 86 prostreet c10
Welcome to the site, that sure is a nice truck, front to back, not much of a box left anymore but sure you will think of something interesting. Love the rear tire size, mean machine. How does it ride with that much tire.
Mudman.
