What lift kit for my C&C?

I am thinking of selling one of my K30's which leaves me to do something with my C&C. If I am not mistaken then the two trucks have different width springs so taking the 4" off the dually and putting on the C&C will not work. Right? That leaves me looking for a lift kit. Thinking between a 2-4" kit going no more than 4". Might be swapping out the wheels too. If I do that then it would have the 285/75/16's verse the 235/85's that are on it now.

I haven't really started to look for a kit for this but figured ones for a C&C might be harder to find over a regular dually. Alot of people will probably groan at this but I might be doing some front clip, door, wheel swapping from my dually and putting on the C&C before selling the dually. I will just put all the C&C stuff on the dually before letting it go. I just have too many trucks and not enough money to go around for all of them and something has to give. So opinions on the lift as to maybe a good lift company to look at. Also may look in to putting bags on the back too.

Re: What lift kit for my C&C?

Just ran through Rough country, Tuff country, Superlift, and Skyjackers websites and only see a lift on Skyjackers and it is listed for a pickup and not C&C. Who else does that leave me to look at?

Re: What lift kit for my C&C?

Okay, now I am a bit confused. I thought the springs on a dually pickup were different than a C&C truck. I just went out and measured and they seem to both be 2.5". Is it the perches are different or what. Will they interchange?

Two key measurments, width and length. They should all be 2.5" wide, but there are 52" long and 56" long rear springs, IIRC. Also, look at Offroaddesign.com, they are without a doubt the gurus of 73-87 suspension.

Re: What lift kit for my C&C?

I think I got my answer from a guy on another board.

"1 ton spring hangers are made different and set the springs closer to the frame. That is the main reason for the shocks being inboard. All 1 tons will have 56" rear springs in them. The difference is the 1 ton part...not the C&C part since C&C trucks are 1 tons they are the same".

Looks like I might be doing some spring swapping in the future. Just have to measure U-bolts so I can get new ones.
