stripped new headers, VHT painted

I got the correct set of headers off of summit for my blazer, the cheap $125 ones and didn't want them to look like crap after the first run so i sand blasted best i could ( my compressor sucks ) and then marine cleaned them, washed them off and did 3 coats of paint, 2 light 1 heavy with VHT header paint rated up to 2000 degrees....ill update when i put them on and get my exhaust done how well they hold up

Looks good - is there a heat cycle recommendation from VHT before you begin to drive regularly? curious to know how these hold up, you'll have to update this thread once you been able to rack up some miles.

your supposed to bake them in an oven for a an hour or so to cure but i didnt have an oven so i used a blow dryer

I hate to be a kill-joy but I never had any luck with ANY header paint and finally just bit the bullet and spent the $$$$ for a set with ceramic coat.

your right , and well see how they up, its my first experience....but i have faith right so until the day they crust i beleive

Same here, my brother has used bar b q grill paint but im not sure how it held up.

were the headers stripped first or sand blasted or did you paint over the other paint?

You have to strip them. I think the paint will burn off if you don't.

Got the exhaust done today and after a 2 hour drive on the freeway they still look good i hope they stay nice and painted Well see in a couple weeks
