1984 Chevy wiper issue not the switch!! read inside.
Alright so I bought a new wiper switch because my wipers wouldn't turn off and the turn signal stalk would just spin and not switch off the wipers, so i bought a new switch, but it turns out that the teeth when you switch to faster or slower intermittent wiper settings seems to have "stripped, and isn't grabbing to switch off the wipers.
so would this mean i would just need an entire new turn signal stalk i guess? you can pull out the end of the stalk, where the wires are visible, so I'm assuming you can just but the very end with just the wiper and cruise control switch on it? |

Yes , just as old Rusty C10 stated, you can purchase the turn signal lever with the wiper and cruise control at any of the major auto parts stores.
Just some advise when replacing this arm if you have cruise control. The wire sits in a small channel in the steering column and to change this out you pull the lever out of the turn signal cam assembly and then just pull the wire out. Here is where I would like to offer some advise. Before you pull the wire out, if you look at the end of the connector there is a small hole. Attach a pull wire to the connector through this hole. While pulling out the old cruise control wire feed your pull wire up in the column. Once the old wire is out, attach the pull wire to the new control wire and pull it back through the column. This will make the change out go a lot smoother. Hope this helps a little.
