If the brake light comes on, what is it indicate?
That the brake light is working, of course! ![]() Seriously, though. I believe it's just a low fluid warning. It could be a pressure sender, but I'm not 100% certain.

Usually it indicates that the fluid is low or the rod is bottoming out. If it bottoms out it is usually out of fluid or out of adjustment. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't remember where I got my tach, but I bought a repro and its a beautiful thing. Just wish I could figure out how to make the lights look red at night like those pontiac dashes.

So in my '68 sub with gauges I could just swap in the tach itself ?

With a little cutting and new lens and wiring, yes. You have to cut out the hole for the tach lens in the black part of the dash, then cut a hole for it to mount in in the outer part of the back as well. Screw it to the plates, wire it, and off you go. I also bought a new tach type printed circuit, but your could get around that with a little more work as well. Jeff.

To make your lights glow red, take apart your insterment panel, and paint all that funny looking green metal white.
Then reasemble it all with red lights. |

I was just reading this and noticed no one said anything about the gear driven tachs that came in them. I now for a fact that they had them because I bought one out of a truck in the yard years ago before I found my electric one. If I remember correct it was a 427 motor, what the guy said was a heavy duty motor. I asked my dad what that meant and he said it just meant more metal between the water passages. shuttermutt, I would think it means the same thing as it did before, ![]()
