Another AD saved

Driving the backroads one day my dad spotted this pickup in an A&S metals dumpster. It looked too good to get recycled so we tracked down the owner who said it was mine if I wanted it. Unfortunately the only way to get it out was the same way it went in; with a forklift. Surprisingly it held together, but the door frame needs some persuading to get back into shape. Its pretty rusty for a California truck, but otherwise it's all there. I'm currently in college so it'll continue to sit at my dad's ranch for a while, but hopefully I'll start on it this summer and start a slow build thread on it.

Re: Another AD saved

That is awesome. Good save.

If the tosp of your doors are really messed up, I have some that can be used for patches. You can have them if you pay for the ride.

Nice truck you saved.before you go too far with it make sure you get a tittle in your name to avoid a lot of hassel down the road.

Thanks, I'll try to work with the bent door and see if I cant get it where it needs to be. If not, I'll let you know.

Yeah I'm surprised it didn't cause a whole lot of damage but it did tweak the door and dent the roof a little bit.

What is it as in what year? I think its a 50 but I didn't get he chance to get under it to see if it has the lever action shocks (47-49) or the tubular ones to make it a 50.

Oh my gosh

Where I am from (upstate NY) this stuff is rotted right up to the window sills...most don't even have drip edges left either...nice save...

I love the finish on it...wonderful patina...all it needs is some oil squirted on the outside sheet metal so it will shine again.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I just want to leave the patina with a good drivetrain underneath.
