Dash Pad Question
Hey guys, I've been reading a lot about dash pads and am worn out. Just need to order one up to replace mine that has one tiny crack in it. LMC is very close to my area and I get the parts quickly. Is this a quality dash pad with the metal back, etc?
Thanks.

Re: Dash Pad Question
I just decide on going with Wes who is a site vendor who offers US made one with a great warranty ! He told me he has seen no returns . I have been less then impressed with reproduction rubber or vinyl stuff so far ? The work it takes to install a new dash pad properly is a pita !

Re: Dash Pad Question
I installed a Classic Chevy Truck Parts of America on my 72 three years ago and it still looks fine. They're located in Riverside, Mo. North Kansas City... http://www.classicparts.com/1967-72-.../#.Uxjd486PDFw

Re: Dash Pad Question
I did mine - not too awfully bad if you remove the gauge bezel, radio if there and glove box. It is indeed a pain to get the new one lined up in the holes and you reattach. Be careful with tightening as you go because it is easy to warp it a bit and have little "waves" show under the screw areas...

Re: Dash Pad Question
Dang, I just had the glove box and radio out to replace the radio. Sounds like that practice will come in handy.

Re: Dash Pad Question
It can be done with the instr bezel and radio in place, but you'll need to head straight to confession afterward. Then to the doctor for the skinned knuckles. Glovebox liner has to come out though.

Re: Dash Pad Question

Who's Wes? Has anyone used the one from So Ky Classics? So far I've been very happy with everything I've purchased from them. I was going to try and reuse the original but just about decided on a new one. The original is slightly warped and I have the whole dash out already.

Re: Dash Pad Question
Yep it sure does. It more less has to look like this to get to the nuts to be able to remove the dash. I got mine from Brothers Truck & it's made in the USA.
