3600 truck owners - front bearing source.

I'm trying to find a better price on the inner and outer front bearings for a 3/4 ton. Are these really that odd of a size to justify $80+ for one bearing? Best I've found is $54 and $45 for import bearings from the truck shop, but most are much more.
Anyone found an alternate source, or a WAY better price.

That would be a big no. There is 2 problems with the 3600 bearings. The first one being that the seal actually rides on the inner part of the inside (big) bearing. The second one being the outer bearing is an odd ball. I haven't found any other bearing used on anything that is the same dimensions.

I bought some MBS tapered roller bearings a few years ago. Good quality stuff even though they are Japanese made.

Federal Mogul (National) still has the ball bearing replacement too. I believe they even supply Timken with the same bearing. Where is it made? I don't know, could be U.S., could be China, could be Mexico. They have plants all over the world.

I got them from these guys, but I'm not for sure they are even made anymore.

I also recommend the Timken seal 40973S over the felt type seal.

Just as a note Japan is now considered one of the premiere bearing makers in the world often better than German bearing so don't worry about Made in Japan on bearings. MBS is a good bearing and I believe that are the makers of the roller conversions for our trucks. China and India not so much on quality bearings

When I went to the local bearing shop here, (Apex International) all they could come up with was the B45 and B46, just like O'reilly's Auto Parts had in their Federal Mogul Catalog.

The Inner is a 1.496 ID and 3.15 OD, Which is still pretty common in industrial use. The outer is .905 and 2.25, which is about as oddball as it gets.

I've thought about having the spindle machined to accept a standardized bearing, probably not worth the effort though. If they ever get scored/damaged it may be something to consider. You could have the inner turned down slightly, so the seal rides on the spindle not the bearing. The outer turned down for a standard bearing and 3/4" spindle nut.

Doing a little more research, I don't think the 909025r and 909026r bearings will work.
The 909025r has an inner bore of 21.44mm(.84"), where the B45 is 23.00. I measured my spindle, and it's 23.03.
Same with the 909026r which has an inner bore of 35.73mm(1.40"), the B46 is 38.08. And my spindle is 38.04.

What year truck is it for? There was a split between the 1952/1953 trucks. The 53-59 are different from the 52 and earlier.

That looks like one helluva deal. especially compared to the chevs of the 40's prices.
Does anyone have any info on this kit? will it fit the 3/4 ton and 1 ton axles?

Good deal, but no, it won't fit 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. Very last part of last paragraph states it.
