Looks like someone with a set of channel locks wanted to make your carb a 2 &1/2 barrel..

Don't have a clue about the carb, but if your nickname is correct, then I sure would like to see some pics of your 68 longbed stepside.

I agree with all above - running a vacuum secondary Holley is just nuts!

Re: Is there some reason for this???
Well I'm only 20 so I don't really have a savings to spoil her right away :/ but I'm not too worried about how she looks right now. I just got it running it was a wiring mess, gave my a headache I finally got it all lined out now and got it turned over but wont stay running. I just need to get it running right for a while then hopefully this fall/winter she's gonna get a new crate 350, new starter, new trans, new carb... Hopefully ill have enough to get the frame powder coated.

Re: Is there some reason for this???
No worries about money. A lot of us do this on a budget. CLR is something you can get at your local wally world. Its calcium/lime/rust remover. Put it on the rust spots and it will eat the surface rust and leave a great looking patina.. dont paint her she is perfect that color. The clr isnt expensive.

Re: Is there some reason for this???
I like that color too I'm gonna eventually get it all sanded down and paint the same color except the engine bay I'm think about black. All my money I gonna go to her and get it done within 2 years then I gotta save to build a house.

When everything's done I wanna drop the rear end 3 inches and the front 2 to 4 but they will be last.

Re: Is there some reason for this???
Heck, looks better than mine. Actually, with a little elbow grease on the paint to bring it out a bit and CLR on the rust, you'll have a nice looking truck. But them itty bitty go-cart tires need to go. Just pick up some used man-sized tires with good tread, and your ready to roll. Look forward to see how you progress. Good luck.

Re: Is there some reason for this???
Hah thanks y'all the only body dammage is the rear fenders gonna be about a grand for both of them other than that it's all surface rust other than your usual cab corner and rockers but that's a given with a 40+ year old truck n the tires will go as soon as she's ready to move. I had to get a new gas tank mines rusted and all boogered up fuel pump is on it's way too.
