Re: mordernizing 77 crew cab

I have seen people do it online, and it is not anywhere near bolt-on or easy.

Before I went with my new 4x4 I had thought of grafting a GMT-400 4x4 onto my frame, and slamming it for an AWD race truck. The rails are a bit wider, but easily accounted for while grafting it on. Of course depending on how you approach the graft, and you how you approach it.

Or you can use spacers to lift the body up, but you maybe into a 3-4 body lift to clear the difference in the chassis.

Also I wouldn't drop to a 1/2 ton personally as I would prefer the bigger brakes of a 3/4 ton.

If you pay to have it done 50k i bet,Doing it yourself 30k and a year or longer. Its a lot cheaper just to buy a newer truck and drive it.

you could drop it on a junk dodge frame but you dont gain anything over swaping the new engine on the old frame really.

I would rather add some modern things to a older truck,Like power windows locks heated mirrors,Maybe install a vintage air kit with a dakota digital auto climate control.
