needle removal/replacement
OK, sitting here watching a 69-70 LWB in "Jeepers Creepers 2" operate as a getaway vehcle on TV... and taking apart my instrument cluster.
How do I get the needles off with destroying anything...then get them back into place correctly? |

The speedometer needle hits a stop for zero, but the gas gauge needle does not have a stop. If you pull the gas gauge needle off, remember where it was so that when you put it back on it will read correctly.

thanks
Thinking that I want to repaint the needles...and possibly put white faces in the cluster...so that's what I am thinking about while I have this all apart.

I painted my guages white, and then when they dried, I put some construction paper under the needles by cutting a slit in it, and then shot the needles orange.
Done it 3 times now with no problems at all. |

Bummer you can't read the speedo numbers at night though huh? (Other than that...I do like the overlay deal)
