Re: speedometer
I haven't done my 50 gmc yet but when I was doing the resto on my 68 Olds 442 I sent all my gauges to Auto Instruments had them cleaned and calibrated, they look new and work great

Re: speedometer
Well my FB answer might not jive after I did South Glen Falls own Google maps. That's a long ways from the "big" cities.
The Albany yellow pages show four possibilities http://www.yellowpages.com/albany-ny...cluster-repair a couple of them look worth a phone call. Now a couple of questions. the Does the speedometer just not work when you drive it down the road or does the needle and or the odometer not move when you turn the speedometer by hand? Do you just need it fixed to work or do you need it fully restored with the face restored? As I said on FB Classic instruments has a department that restores spedometers and other instruments but I would seriously imagine that you do indeed pay the price for their services. After reading his post that he did while I was fighting with my laptop Auto Instruments that Chris J suggested http://www.autoinstruments.com/index.html might be a good one to contact. .

Re: speedometer
i was getting ready to get my 58 speedo rebuilt for $199 and then started looking to buy a rebuilt, found a new repop on sale for $99.
so look around at what is reasonable; rebuild or buy new if your odometer doesn't work, there's not much in between the speedo cable and the odometer if you have no movement of the needle when you turn the back of the speedo tear it apart to see what is missing i suspect that your cable is not turning or not engaged in the back of the speedo
