Wow. It's threads like this that make me glad I'm keeping my truck as original as possible. These pics on eBay are perfect just to keep as reference pics.

Re: took my 2k mile truck to world of wheels today

Joe - What a beautiful truck you got. I remember when it was being auctioned on eBay. If I were you, I wouldn't sell the truck. Sure, it's not one you'd want to drive but with 2,000 miles and the kind of $$ you paid it, I'd keep it climate controlled because I've never seen one with 2,000 miles and all original. It's a time capsule!

So Joe...did you sell it?

I looked at the ebay ad, but it didn't say the current bid was a winning bid.

Re: took my 2k mile truck to world of wheels today

I did not sell it. I'm working on buying a few other trucks, but I'm going to try and hang tight with this one for now. The high bidder did email me today about still working a deal, but I'm holding off right now. The money is right, but dang it's hard to let this one go

Just to be clear, the truck did not meet my reserve on eBay, that's why it didn't sell

Joe, I think you need to change your username. You probably have more trucks original under 100k miles than most collectors.

Re: took my 2k mile truck to world of wheels today

Great truck. I have almost the same Base model truck except its a 3/4 ton long-bed, factory step bumper, power-brakes (not sure if its factory, need to check my build sheet and sales receipt), and lots of rust unfortunately. And I put a V-8 in mine since the 6 was shot.

I also have the same upholstery as your truck. Do you have any idea where to get that pattern? All I ever see is the Scroll and Houndstooth but none for the Base model pickups.

Power brakes were standard on 71 & 72 3/4 and 1 ton truck. It will not be listed on your spid. Also, no one reproduces the base model seat cover.

Thanks for that info, I had no idea about the power brakes on the heavier trucks. It does make a lot of sense though since they would be loaded up more usually.

That is too bad about the base model upholstery. It also sort of make sense because most of the trucks being restored are the ones that had the higher grade upholstery and the base model trucks were usually used for harder work so they might not have been taken care of as much and went to the crusher sooner than the other trucks. That's my guess anyway.
