unknown knock
I have a 68 307 with an auto 350 trans. there's a knocking noise coming from the front near all the pulleys.. I have the main drive pulley, fan, and alt. I've checked the fan it doesn't wobble and isn't loose, I checked my temp with a thermometer registered just over 150 so I figure the water pump is fine. the main drive pulley looks like it wobbles n so does the fan its hard to tell which one it really is with it all tied together.. I already took the plug wire out one by one and it still knocked it sounds like its from the front...
any suggestion? or troubleshooting? |

Re: unknown knock
You could remove the fan belt and start it to see if it still knocks.....

Re: unknown knock
Nobody wanted to say rod bearing, but it always lurks...good luck with your motor adventure! Build thread?
