What went here??

Ok anyone know what went here in the square hole and if there is a plug for it since I don't use it.
Anyone got any bright ideas on what to do to cover it thanks Jerry

park brake cable is what I think went there

Emergency brake cable goes through that hole.

Is that for the one that is under the steering wheel because mine is on the left kick panel like newer ones. Is there a block off that you can get?
