Great idea for the pie pan. I'm going to have to try out the recipe...

I would not paint the sheetmetal, the paint could still cure and give off fumes in the oven and contaminate what ever you are cooking/baking.

I would "season" it like you would a cast iron pan...

Capital idea !! Thanks you probably saved my dividers! I used to have a full set of cast iron pots and pans, lost them in a move many meay years ago.... sure do miss them !
