Sport Camper mirrors???

Hi guys,
I just bought a camper and I can't see anymore!!!

I thought I saw some extendible sport mirrors somewhere. Does this ring a bell? I don't really want tripod mirrors I threw a set out once already.

Does anyone have any other ideas??

Re: Sport Camper mirrors???

I used a pair of slip on extension mirrors on my Surburbans from the 1980s on up. They slip on over the OEM mirrors and extend out. They came from Camping World back in the 90s, may still have them. Will look for them.. At the time, towing a 8.5' trailer, and could see some with them.

I am thinking that I remember the OEM maker of 2003, GM extension mirrors also makes power extension mirrors for other applications. Just don't remember their name.

Re: Sport Camper mirrors???

I guy I used to hang with had 69 Chevlle mirrors on a 5/7 Crew cab dually he had which was fine for putting around, but when he towed were no good.

So he got drip rail mounts, and used pipe to hang large mirrors off of so he could tow safely. It took 10 minutes to go from sport to tow, and he just had to snap the clips on the drip rail mounts.

do have these though too, slip over & a j-bolt around the arm, i find i use them mostly for backing up with the trailer hooked up. on the road i adjust the main ones for everything & point the clip-ons outward so i can see everything coming up beside me

It seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth...

I like those! Looks like a great way to have towing mirrors!

Re: Sport Camper mirrors???

I tried to mount a set off a van once. They mount up just fine except that I couldn't get my vent wings open without hitting the mirrors.

Well then, it may not be a mirror problem at all.
