1965 gmc 4 door pick up
I have recently found a 1965 GMC four door pick up for sale. The owner said it was an original factory 4 door truck. He dosen't have a title on it for me to check. Has anyone else ever seen a 4 door of this year? I can upload pics later. The VIN is GMC TRUCK DD 1001 P F55503A any info would be a helpful. If I were to buy it (200$) where can I find out things like what kind of front seat(s) it had and other info.

Yep, they made crew cab from 60- pretty much until now. Most were special order and made for public works depts, train, lumber and susk. There is a link on jolly's site that shows a few. They were called 6 man crew cabs.

Re: 1965 gmc 4 door pick up
4 door trucks were special order, coach companies ( there were at least 3 at the time) would cut a LWB truck cab, make the rear doors from scratch and place door skins on them, shorten the bed and send them to the sealer. My dad has one, they are relatively rare to find in a workable condition because of who they were built for usually abused them pretty good. They took the same front seat as any other truck of that year, the back seat was a custom job made from an original seat and cut down. Any other questions you may have let me know, I am no expert but since my dad has one, I am quite familiar with them.
Also I agree with keith, if you dont want it and keith passes, she is all mine and Ill come get her this weekend!

Re: 1965 gmc 4 door pick up
I hope that everyone passes on this thing for 200!! I could use another one. I picked up my 65 GMC crew cab right at the Oklahoma/Texas border, and that seems to be the area that they came from mostly ( oil company trucks, railroad trucks, etc..). None the less, great score if you get it. As stated previously, if the crew is in decent shape and not beat to death thats a great thing, If its been abused and rusty... prepare for alot of work as these things are unique in alot of panels used to make the middle section of the cab. But in the end it would be well worth the effort!!! Good Luck!!

Re: 1965 gmc 4 door pick up
I doubt there were more than 1-200 of these made per year, there is no real numbers and there is no production numbers from the coach companies that I have seen. also the VIN doesnt show anything but a regular long bed truck. I would love to find one, but again, they are hard to find.
