Which intake is better?
Hello all again. I have an Edelbrock aluminum torqer intake and an Edelbrock aluminum performer intake. Neither are high rise. Which is better and what's the actual difference?

Re: Which intake is better?
For high rpm operation....the Torquer (single plane) is better and produces high rpm hp.
For lower rpm operation (relatively speaking...say most operations below 4500rpm)....which is 90% of our trucks, the Performer outperforms...particularly on maintaining torque. ie: If you have a vehicle over 3600-3800lbs go with the Performer and you will, in most circumstances, see better performance and particularly and importantly....torque. If you are running or racing a lightweight Camaro or nova or something along those lines...you might have better high end performance luck with the Torquer. Coley

Re: Which intake is better?
Id go Performer RPM, its in between the two you listed. For a street car the Performer would be better than the Torquer, if those are your only choices.

Re: Which intake is better?
If you're not racing the performer is the way to go. A little better than stock performance and if you're not a maniac a little better mileage. That is unless you pop a 750cfm carb on a 200hp engine.

Re: Which intake is better?
I have a 200HP 350 with a Performer and 600CFM Holley with dual inlets (http://www.holley.com/0-80458SA.asp).
It outperforms the quadrajet I had and looks way cooler in the process.

Re: Which intake is better?
Go with the Performer, my 350 has the Torker and it doesn't have a whole lot of bottom end torque...
