How do I lower my steering column?

I found that my truck was not starting because the ignition switch need adjusting so the rod become more tight. I have the 2 bolt mounting the steering column to the dash out. what else do I need to do to lower it to about the seat, so i can adjust. Please tell me anything, a video would be great if there is one out there.

Should drop quite a bit with those 2 bolts you undid. If my memory serves me right you should be able to pry the strap the bolts were holding on off of the mounting studs it will come down enough.

Other than that there are some more bolts that hold the firewall plate to the firewall and the pinch bolt for the yoke that you shouldn't have to mess with.

This is all from Memory and its been a while since I had my column out... Lol

what do you mean by pry the strap. if im thinking right are you talking about that plate that the bolts were tightened onto. and how much pressure would it take because it seems like its still in there really firm and i dont want to break anything.

It's probably caught up on the threads.

Re: How do I lower my steering column?

See the 2 bolt channels 3/4 of the way up the column? There's a tutorial on doing it underneath.
