De-painted my SPID

I successfully got a couple layers of paint off my glovebox and found my SPID, not done but enough to get most of it, looks like somebody tried to scrape it off at some point, so it's sketchy. maybe you guys can help. I am partial to orange, would have kept it that in a restore, and I have seen evidence of OCHRE (which I don't hate, but not particularly fond of) up under the dash, but somehow after seeing it in print on the SPID, I feel a slight compulsion to bring it back to original. Not sure. Factory black top (!), and I THINK skid plate (!).
Here are the pictures followed by what I think I see or am able to decode:

Re: De-painted my SPID

Always good info to have...but it's your truck build what you want, although ochre is a really cool color...

Re: De-painted my SPID

Too easy!
Now all you need to do is fill in the VIN. Then find the two vehicle specifc numbers missing (more cleaning). First is the sequence number normally found just to the left of the SPID part number in the top right corner. Second, if applicable, is the "ORDER NO." posted as the last line of the right description column. If you want to look in those places and provide me with the information I can add it if you prefer.

But as it stands you are very close to being able to send it off to Jeff (chipflyer) for one of his nice reproductions.

Re: De-painted my SPID

This is strange that this post just happens to be on here today.. I'm working on getting all the information for outintheshop to replace mine.. I took a really quick picture of my ID yesterday..and I'm paying for it today..It's in pretty bad shape..and I am missing 7 option numbers...(Left Side).. any help would be greatly appreciated..

Tinted Glass
350 CID V-8 Engine
Power Steering
Full Wheel Covers??
Gauges-Ammerter,Oil
Cheyenne Equipment
Saddle Bucket, Vinyl

I think I have all of the others correctly...but not sure...

Rear Seat 1AS910
Front Wheel Lock 1F7610
H78-15-BB HIGHWAY BB 1PV5AA
AM PUSHBUTTON RADIO 1U6310
REMOVABLE WHITE TOP 175810

If anyone can help with the top ones I would appreciate it.. I would imagine
that outintheshop might have info as well...

Re: De-painted my SPID

Post up a picture and let me see what you are working with. Can't help as much if I can't see it. There is a difference between having general information and as printed on the SPID.

SS Tim, thanks a lot! I will try and get more, but I may not be able to get all of it, the red streaks that look like they are covering more SPID info is actually scraped away SPID. Like the tried to remove it and were partially successful before giving up. We'll see what I can do.

It looks pretty gone then if that is peeled. So I'd say just go ahead and get a quote from chipflyer. All he needs is the VIN to make a very good reproduction. A sequence number would be better but if you dont have one there isn't much that can be done. We might be able to bracket a number if we knew your VIN but that is still only a guess.

Finally you need to decide if you want it to restore to "as built". The options are good but it was a basic utility buckets no console interior, no frills ride. Either way you go having the SPID information saved is a great bit of history to preserve.

Close enough just a couple of blanks left, pretty sure you can handle those. :-)

Thanks man.. woo hoo Cheyenne equipment...guess that was for the crappy fake wood insert on the door....lol..... well at least I'll have this information on the new one...and I'll probably add the new paint color...and some other things...and just use the date I did it... 0051514......seems like a good 6 digit number to stick next to it..
