What's the difference in a urethane pad and a vinyl stock type?

So Far my best Times are:

Motor only:
6.44 1/8 @ 104.13
10.39 1/4 @ 125.83

Nitrous Times:
5.785 1/8 @ 118.65 with a 1.336 60ft
9.168 1/4 @ 142.58 with a 250 shot dead out of the hole!

The weight is the biggest difference. They claim the grain is better and some colors are only aviable in one and not the other.

Also the urathane one is really hard, and the original one is slightly softer / more padded.
In my opinion, if you can find a good original without cracks or too much fading from the sun, they look better than the urathane ones. In my humble opinion.
I must add however, that I put a new aftermarket urathane dash in one of my trucks a few months ago, and I was really pleased with how well it looked. It was a black one. I cant speak for the urathane ones in other colors.
