Help: Windshield Washer will not stop pumping.

I installed a new windshield washer pump on my 64 short stepper. When I pushed the button to see if it would work it does not stop pumping. I turned the wiper motor off and then back on the washer still pumps. I disconnect the wires to the washer and it still pumps. It is like the energizer bunny it just keeps on pumping. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Check your wiring but most likely a faulty pump or it's grounding when it shouldn't be grounding.
