What options are their for OBA for Vortec LS motors.

I have looked around a bit and only found side mount York kits that look terrible. I have a 2005 5.3 truck vortec that I want to add engine driven On Board Air to for faster and quieter tank filling. I am working on figuring out a set up but wanted to see what the options might be.

Thanks for any pics or info.

i believe that a few companies, including qwik performance, make a sanden mount for these motors

I may be completely wrong here, but I don't think sanden compressors lend themselves to OBA systems very well due to the oiling/lube requirements.

Re: What options are their for OBA for Vortec LS motors.

Ed thanks for the links I will read up the the oiling system they are using. I have also seen that bracket as well as one for a york but I was not impressed with the look. I am sure it works fine but I wanted a tighter stockish look.

So after about 8 hours here is were I am with my set up. I still have some bracing to do on my comp once my 10mx170 bolts come in. It is a tight but good fit. Basically I just remounted the ALT. over were the tensioner was and then mounted a A/C comp I had from my rock crawler over were the ALT. was.

I was tempted to ask why you wanted something prefabbed knowing your capability to do it yourself.

Aaah, got ya. Everything I have ever seen for OBA has been rather industrial looking.

Are you considering designing a clean system for the LSx and market it?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Their are a few out their and producing this kind of stuff is not much fun for me and for what they are getting for this kit it would not be worth my wild. I have more fun things to play with. But I did enjoy building mine but now that thrill is gone

Looks to be a good kit for the price and is designed for street rod guys who need to move their A/C up out of the frame. These LSx motors use a separate system for their factory A/C compressor so this kit would just be an adder for air psi.http://www.kwikperf.com/lsx_ac.html
