Re: What do you think?

Looks great to me, but I wonder if the real question is:
I'm not quite satisfied. Can anyone else find a flaw?

I'd guess it depends on the restoration desire, and judging.

When new the trucks weren't very nice, they were trucks.
Now we think every imperfection is a flaw

Yes, at first I was overly critical.
I checked here to see if it was just me, and over the time of this post proved that I was in fact being overly critical again.

I have gotten over that, like I always have done in the past.
One of the biggest obstacles I have had to work with while restoring this truck, was not money nor anything else but my own criticisms of an end result to something restored.

A perfectionist mindset, mixed with sentimentalism is a bad mix for me in regards to my truck. Mainly when it comes to finishing a project, but when I am done it always makes me happy. So, life is good

Madness is my business.
There's no such thing as perfect.
We just have to decide how crackers we are.

Re: What do you think?

This has been probably the toughest part of my restoration, which is why it is the last of the larger milestones in the restoration for my Suburban. I have put this part of the restoration off for so long, working on everything else I could while trying to figure out how to do a nice seat cover. Trying to be as original looking as possible, and at the same time nice to look at and be functional at the same time.

The rear two benches have been easy so far in this process, but realized that the front bench is going to be financially challenging. Since the 40+ year old foam cushion is shot, and I have issues with springs that are broken or bent.
At least the frames are solid, and I am not dealing with rust on them. Since that would have been an added expense to strip and paint them, so I guess I saved a bunch of cash on that.

It will probably be 2 to 3 weeks when all of you get to see the all 3 benches done, since the front is dealing with added challenges that require time and money to overcome.

But... If I can wait years to get this far. I can wait a few weeks and deal with a little budgetary strain, to get the project finished while looking and functioning nicely.

Thank you all for the supportive comments!

Re: What do you think?

Well, all three benches are finally done!
The front bench took a while, because I needed all new foam and I ran short on materials. So it took a while to get everything squared away for the final bench.

Re: What do you think?

Thanks guys!
This is a huge milestone for me and my Suburban.
As we all know, restoring/building a Suburban is a huge project that takes a lot of time and money. So getting all three benches done, is the last big dollar restoration step for me. Everything else going forward is fairly minor fixes/upgrades, that I can do on a weekend with out breaking the bank.
