What's in your Glove Box?

The Glove Box never has gloves in it?
It's the junk drawer of your truck.
Here's what I found in mine....

Vehicle Registration and a reproduction manual
Rubber boot for my rearview mirror that I've been looking for
A spare lead battery terminal
3ft spark of plug wire, some ends, and boots
Various size door/window handle clips that do not actually fit my truck
A modified starter shim for a door/window clip removal tool
A new complete in dash cigarrete lighter.
A bic lighter
A box of misc electrical connectors, fuses, tubing, and whatnot.
A new neutral safety switch
A new headlight switch
A new ignition switch and a new chrome bezel
Pair of wire cutters/crimpers
A coil of wire and grounding strap
A pair of dikes and needle nose pliers
A bundle of zip ties
A pocket knife with cork screw
Some band aids
A spark plug gap tool
A flat head screwdriver
A black sharpie
A tiny LED flashlight
Some odd little 5/16" by 11/32" combination wrench?
A church key
And a bag of various condiments, service kit, and napkins from the Goat Soup And Whiskey Bar on Put in Bay, Ohio.

Oh...and a wooden nickel from the local pub...hmmm..save it, or head on down there?

Anyway...was cleaning my Glove Box and thought to ask what you "collect" in yours?

Re: What's in your Glove Box?

The original Owners Warranty book with my late grandfathers metal card still in it, the original Owners Manual, a 1969 SC Department of Motor Vehicles Driver's Handbook, my late father's 2 ESSO credit cards from the 1960s, an ESSO station dash-hanging trash bag giveaway premium, and the registration.

Re: What's in your Glove Box?

Registration, insurance card, and an iPod. When I lived in Bellevue Nebraska I always had a spare set of gloves in the glove box.

Re: What's in your Glove Box?

The usual registration, insurance bunk. Maybe some spare fuses and a bunch of 10% coupons for the local scrap yard. That's at least in the ones that still have a glove box.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Sounds like I may be a bit over prepared. Guess that's the Boy Scout coming out.
I used to keep a 25 in there too. Clip and ammo separated, of course.
Cheers! I'm about to burn some stuff on the grill!

Was that legal in your State? If you did that anywhere up here in Canada and got caught by the cops you;d face very heavy fines and possibly jail time...

I used to carry a loaded handgun in my glovebox 24/7 and legally too. I realize this sounds absolutely insane to some, especially our friends in Canada. LOL

Ohio changed their concealed carry laws a few years ago, I am not sure if carry in the car is legal now or not.

I don't drive it much so the only thing in there is the registration, insurance papers, and a window crank knob.

Re: What's in your Glove Box?

OMG! Bruce 1968!
o!

Funny stuff...I hope this continues!
Truth is, my C20 was an empty box/cab when I got'er for $1700!
Spent the next 6 months with an iPhone tapped into these threads.
Managed to stitch it bach together and quite well, I might add...you fellas rule!
So I do keep a LOT of sheet in the Glove Box.
But I honestly cannot afford a break down...see photo..
Every Thursday I Quintiplefold the value of my Beast with a haul of Booze from a State Liquor Store to various bars on and Island north of me.
It's a heavy day if the wind is outta the North...easier if outta the South?
AKA...if I make a buck it goes back into her?
Two years of making it just GO... and now I'm making it GO BETTER!
(thanks to all of you here)
As I guy using a C20 as a true work truck...this thread is a real fun release.
I've spent a day downside this thing with a starter coming out in a grocery parking lot?
As I lay there...some guy pulled up in a car blaring Bob Segar's "Against The Wind" outta his ride.
Suddenly, all was good. 'Twas my Mother's fave tune and I just laid there and enjoyed the experience??
Other days....Mmmnnn Grrr... stare. blink.. stare...poke poke.
You guys all have me blown away at how much you know about these trucks!
The twist of knowing that my messy azz glove box is right up there with yours just let me know that I've been bit by the same bug as you all!

Sheesh...that looks like a list of the crap I found under the seat when I bought my truck and you have it all in the glove box.

I filled up a good-sized trash can just reaching under the seat. Then when I took the seat out to put in carpet, I did it again. All total, found about $10 in nickels, dimes and quarters.

Re: What's in your Glove Box?

On my last running truck, the green K20, I kept registration, insurance, and a few extra fuses etc. It was all kept in a sealed baggie, because another thing I often kept in that glove box was a pool of water =)

A stack of maps in mine. Of course I'm biased because I collect road maps, and can't stand those GPS units.

The usual stuff already named, plus the partial roll of TP. The facilities are a bit lacking when I'm out cutting firewood.
