eaton ho52 question
Have a c20 with an eaton ho52 rear end it makes a clicking noise when you go around corners is this normal for this rear end ? Ive read some articles that say its normal for the eatons to be noisy but should it really be clicking?

Re: eaton ho52 question
does it have a no-spin locker? if going around corners, that is simply the locker locking and unlocking

Re: eaton ho52 question
If this sound is something new, it is possible the differential oil needs changing.

Re: eaton ho52 question
Nothing new and just changed the fluid 2 weeks ago must just be the locker.

Re: eaton ho52 question
I don't know much about the Eaton lockers. But, do they require addition of friction modifier like the new posi and locking axles do? It might be worth a try.

Re: eaton ho52 question
I don't believe so - IIRC the additive is for clutch type posi carriers which the HO52 locker is not.

Re: eaton ho52 question
Like stated before, the HO52 doesn't require additive because there are no clutches. The additive is friction modifier for clutch material. The HO52 is a mechanical locker.
