The only reason they are heavier is because they are OER quality and they are manufactured to the same specifications as the original part. So they aren't the cheap collision replacement parts we see too much of they are as good as the original.
I am very happy about that because too often today we see cheap parts made in china that are thinner and flimsier and don't even come close to meeting the manufacturing specifications of the original parts.
