Re: 1969 project shortie

Just ran across this thread and it makes me want to get back on my '70 C10 long bed project. I have way too many projects but seeing that I can make my long bed a short bed moved the Chevy back to the top. Can you give me some measure points from front and rear of bed or from wheel well? I didn't think the body lines would match up because it drops from front to rear on the bed but seeing is believing. Way to go. Nice truck.
I found a beat up rusty GMC short bed but the guy wanted $500.

anything with a short fleet is worth $500 unless someone sand blasted it and left it out in the rain.

Re: 1969 project shortie

I am really digging your project and your approach to "doing it on the budget" thing.
It is so friggin easy to get in so deep so quick when you try to do something custom. I dig it

It's the bed only and it's been out in the weather loaded with headboards and other junk going on two years. It's been about that long since I offered him $300. Maybe I should go see him again before I start cutting on my long bed.

Re: 1969 project shortie

Thanks guys !

I'll post some measurements of where I cut the bed at. Have some more pics to upload as well.

It's so easy to get crazy and not be able to finish one. I'm waiting on a guy to powder coat the frame , wasn't gonna go that far but we traded it out so It will be free for me .

Those are killer , but that's more than I paid for the truck lol

I was just gonna build the floor flush with the top and not have any tubs.

Broken exhaust manifold bolts , no problem. Easiest thing I've done in awhile.
