Hard tonneau covers for '67 shortbed.
Anyone have any recommendations for a hard tonneau cover for my '67 fleetside shortbed? I am still trying to decide between fiberglass or aluminum. I have a soft cover now but prefer a hard cover.

There is only one company making a hard (fiberglass) tonneau these days, It's Gaylord. I recently got one and I'm very happy with it.

I had one on my blue 72 and loved it as well.

I saw that truck at the Fairplex on Saturday. It's coming along well.

Re: Hard tonneau covers for '67 shortbed.
I looked at the jackrabbit online as an aluminum option. From what I can tell, it has a vinyl cover over it though? Is that true? Also, it looks like the cover is recessed lower than the rails so I was worried about water retention on top. Thoughts?

Re: Hard tonneau covers for '67 shortbed.
It is some sort of vinyl on aluminium but resists the sun well plus I hit it with 303 protectant weekly. As far as drainage it has a couple of tubes that come off the box it retracts into and they go out to a couple of holes drilled in the back bedwall. It was on the truck when I bought it, I like it but dont know if I would have forked out the dough for it.

Re: Hard tonneau covers for '67 shortbed.
The Gaylord runs around $1300 plus shipping with a primer paint cover. The Jackrabbit is about $200 cheaper. By the time you buy it, ship it, paint it, the Gaylord will cost me about $1800 so that makes the Jackrabbit a lot cheaper.
