Possible To Convert Back?? (Roll-Up Windows)

Good Evening Guys,

I want to convert the windows back to roll-up. The previous owner had a shop convert the windows to electric. I am not sure about the details of the kit that was used. The only info I know is which local glass shop cut the glass.

So before I jump into ripping all the wiring out. I wanted to ask the great minds on here a couple questions.

1. Is it possible to keep the 1 piece window and have it be roll up?

2. Will the stock OEM roll-up mechanism work?

Anything is possible. To use a stock window crack would require some modification for sure.

I also thought about getting stock window and vent and seeing if I can cut them down to work with the 3" chop.

Anyone know of any C10 chopped with stock windows? I found 1 picture online of a 68 chopped 3" with stock windows.

The only possible problem I see is that the window might hang up a bit up in front because you will have about four inches more glass at the front than you had before.

What did they use to convert the windows to power? it looks like they may have used factory replacement regulators and in that case all you need to do is get a good pair of manual regulators and install them and done.

If the windows went up and down perfectly I'd be inclined to leave them alone and be done with it though. It's kind of nice to be able to hit the button and roll the passenger window up or down without stopping the truck and sliding across the seat to do it.

I would try installing the crank window assembly before removing everything. That looks like they used a factory style power window kit.

I made some one piece Windows for a friend that use manual cranks but it was all built together. His truck is chopped about 8 inches. I cut them out of laminated but you could have tempered glass made if you wanted. I also cut the windshield for this truck

I went back though my papers on the truck and found the local shop that did the windows. All the paper work says is "1 piece window kit" ($690). The grand total for 4 windows cut and electric windows installed was $3066.62. WOW.

My plan is to run by the shop next week and see if they can help me with putting hand cranks back on.

They make a "button" you can use to get the original cranks to work the power windows. I think the push buttons like the ones you have look ridiculous and are awkward to use. Autoloc is one manufature I'm going to buy mine here... Just incase it is just for the looks, I wouldn't go back to cranks after having power.. but thats just me. Good luck
