any one use a stock electric speedo

I changed over to a nv4500 in my 1 ton 2 wheel drive 1980 and now I need to get the speedo working. has anyone used the later electric speedos from the 87-91 blazer/burb/crew cabs for a stock looking dash? how hard is the wiring anyone make a kit?
thanks guys for letting me hang out on this great site and ask dumb questions.

Re: any one use a stock electric speedo

Plenty of people use the stock electric speedo for LS swaps. Wiring is fairly easy. One extra pin to the stock gauge cluster plug for the VSS signal.

Is this the original carb'd engine or a later EFI engine? If it's with an early carb engine, you can get a VSSB box from a 92-95 truck and wire it up using this diagram to run the speedo. The box is white and mounted under the ECM behind the glove box in these trucks.

This article will guide you in fine tuning the VSSB box
