Picture request, C20s with 2500HD Rims!

Hi All,

Have a buddy that wants to puts some chrome wheels on his truck, a 67 C20 worktruck, and I told him about using the chevy 2500HD rims like I have seen on Wes's truck and Chickenwing's truck. Was hoping to find some pictures of our trucks with these rims to show my buddy. Thanks!!!!

Here's a pic of my '69 with late model 8 lug wheels and GMC center caps. I haven't figured out how to get the rear caps mounted yet, as they don't fit over my hubs. I even tried going to a dually center cap, but to get them to fit I have to put a 1/4" washer on the lug before I put on the lug nut.

Those do look good and they are cheap! I don't see the big problem with the new offset, that some people are complaining about. They seem to set in the wheel wells just about right.
Anyone have any inside clearance problems? I have run the new steel ralley wheels for years without trouble.

I can't seem to find a picture but IIRC Board Member "Brewski" had them on his '72 GMC 3/4 Ton 4x4 for a while.

OK, next question, What did you do for the lugnuts size difference? We found a set and they are going on a 67 3/4 longbed, and noticed that the lugnuts that came with the rims are bigger then the factory 67 studs. Did you find new lugnuts or replace the studs with bigger studs...

Re: Picture request, C20s with 2500HD Rims!

I bought a set of 32 nuts off of ebay. There is a dealer on there. Right around $42 shipped if I remember. Reputable local tire store (Les Schwab) just stared at me with blank stare and said not available. The fake plastic covers screw onto regular nuts for look. The inside thread is standard threads to fit our studs and outsides are metric to fit caps.

I beleive these are the ones I got.

Do you remember if that truck had the large hub from the floating rear axle? I want to use those wheels on my 69 but fear the caps won't fit with my axle.

Re: Picture request, C20s with 2500HD Rims!

Hey Guys,

I am just in the process of putting the 2500 rims on my 70 K20. On my truck,I need 1/2 20 thread (not sure if that is stock), and the lugs that came with the rims where metric.

I found the following lugs at Napa that work for the caps. Just wanted to share my find.

1/2"-20 is stock for the 1970 3/4 ton. Here is an eBay listing for what you need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-LUG-NUTS-...item46216ed5a1 I see you are in the Phoenix area. I bought a set of these at the monthly(?) swap meet at Glendale Community College. I believe it was from this eBay seller. At least his sign said Lug Nut King.

It must be the Dana axles that the center caps won't fit, because mine fit on both the H052 and the 14bolt I swapped.

True. I put Hummer H2 wheels on mine with an Eaton without a problem with the caps. Davepl used the same wheels and caps on his 70 with a Dana and had to use spacers in the rear to get the caps to fit.

Had to use 1 1/4" spacers between drums and rims on my Dana 60 to get centers to work. I also purchased 1/2X20 lug nuts from "Lug Nut King" to mount new rallies on my 70 GMC.

When I was looking around I found a set of Dodge ones that worked out nice. I will be installing bowties over the rams caps. Just a diffrent option. I even got to run all the lugs.
