Woodgrain clear coat
Anyone know what type of clear coat paint or expoxy is over the original wood grain exterior trim?

You talking over the aluminum? If so it is Anodized Aluminum.
The woodgrain tape, might just be the lamination is finally coming apart. Trevor

Picture of what I mean. The wood grain tape or whatever is in fine shape. The clear coat has peeled.
