Spend a little more and get a Miller or Lincoln mig....just my opinion.

There have been reliability issues reported with the EW welders on various forum boards lately. Just keep in mind, its a Chinese machine with a low price, so you're facing more risk than if you buy a higher end USA made machine like a Miller, Hobart, or Lincoln.

I spent the money on a remanufactured hobart 140 and I love it.
Stay away from Chinese welders imho

My Lincoln is over 10 years old and still works perfect. I'm very suspicious of low priced welders and stuff like that. I doubt it would last.

I do have an Eastwood Plasma cutter, and it works well, but I got it for a steal at their open house last year.

I like my Millermatic 175. I wired it for 230 volts so you don't have the fluctuation of power that you have with 110s. The controls are much finer also and I can weld thicker steel if I need to. WES

Most of the cheaper MIG welders are limited in capability to sheet metal or exhaust work. If thats all you plan to do, thats ok. If you want to do a variety of different things like fabrication or frame mods, you will need an industrial grade machine with gas shielding. You will need a 240 volt ac outlet to power it.
Miller and Hobart are good, But I prefer the Lincoln WireMatic series. They are probably among the most versatile "Portable" wire machines available. And yes, they are spendy, but worth every penny,

was gonna buy it for the cabin as a second welder as I have a Lincoln fro the city, but decided to pass. We don't have Eastwood here so it is good to know to stay away from
