what have you guys done for speakers in your trucks if you have left your gas tank in cab and don't want to cut your doors? I would like to use a pair of 6x9 but cant figure where to put them

I built a center console to hold my amp and some 6.5" components, but that requires bucket seats.

If you don't want to cut the doors, keep bench seat, keep tank, and fit speakers, you'll be limited. You can try to modify something in fit in-dash where the mono speaker would go, or get kickpanels. And if you are only putting 1 pair of speakers in the truck to help with sound, then DON'T get 6x9's. There are much better sizes of speaker for delivering good sound with less distortion, and will take up less room. 4.5's, 5.25's and 6.5's all come to mind.

In my old '68 I built a small boxes for 6x9 and just fit under the seat.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago. 'member bigblock73' Plan to install them. You would have to cut the top out of the drivers side panel for the gas neck but they should work with some moding.
I was going to put 6x9 and some mids in the panel but I think just a good set of 6x9's will be the ticket.

I was looking into one of the woofer/Amp setups that will fit under our seats. I haven't made a decision on name brand to go with.

Years ago, I put a set of 6X9 speakers in the lower door panels on my 72 Chevy C-10 and then just above the gas tank, there IS room enough for a set of 6" round speakers in the metal valance under the rear window. They will have to be a pretty shallow fit though. In this day and age, you could fit a later model set of 4" square speakers in the rear pillar or in the valance behind the seat.

I installed four speakers: Two via kick panels and two under seat speakers. The under seat speakers I hung upside down under my bucket seats, because if I mounted the driver's side speaker on the floor the it would interfere with the seat adjustments.

It all sounds OK. I also put a lot of sound proofing material in my truck.

If my doors weren't already cut for 6x9s (which I really dislike), I would personally put 6.5 components in a kick panel mount. Since I already have the holes, I'm looking to fill them with Fosgate P1694s and (2) P142s in the dash location.

Take a look at some other threads in the audio section. I know there are pictures to what you're looking for in at least three recent ones. I replaced the center mono speaker with two 4" speakers, put two 6.5s under the seat and right now I'm looking into an RF shallow mount. There's a lot more room under the seats than people think. Won't be super high quality sound because sound coming from under the seat isn't really ideal, but with the amount of wind noise these things make its not going to be particularly clear anyway.

Same sort of thing goes for 6x9s in my opinion. They are more loud than clear, but unless you are an SQL type guy, the average joe won't care and would be happier with the increased volume.

here is what i did , found a guy that works in a local woodworking hobby shop build this for me on as a side job , cost me around 60 bucks

there is room to fit fairly large speakers under the dash pointed down I have a 6.5 in each corner and could fit larger, i just had to make a small bracket to hold them. sorry no pictures.

I think he sales them for differant models but I'm sure you could trim them to fit.
