A Question
I recently found these pictures online.
They show a 65-66 GM truck wearing a set of the late model rims. Now..my question. Do they fit my 72 3/4 or not? I've been told yes, told no.. and I turned down a really good deal on a set with tires because some members here in a thread said they don't

Re: A Question
They will absolutely work and there are some board members that have had them on there 67-72 trucks in the past.
The problem is the center cap. The center cap takes a special lug nut to hold it on. The correct lug nut is metric and your 72 is standard thread. I am sure some other members will chime in to a cure to this problem. I am not sure myself how to get around it. Hope this helps.

Re: A Question
They'll fit, but the caps may not be deep enough if you have a Dana axle. You can add a relatively thin spacer though. With an Eaton axle you should be OK. Here's a thread with lots of options including the ones you are asking about.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=330740&page=4 There are also quite a few of us running Hummer H2 17" wheels with the Chevy or GMC caps. They have more offset moving the wheel/tire outboard more. EDIT: Here's the lug nuts you need for a 72. 70 and earlier, if stock, use 1/2" also available from the same seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-LUG-NUTS-...item3a94346a71 Last edited by FirstOwner69; 07-23-2014 at 12:41 AM. |

Re: A Question
Here's a picture of the Hummer wheels I mentioned in the post above on my 69. Just another late model GM option.
