These are ancient KC daylighter housings. I'll have to see what I can find.

I like #1. The pics with 4 round lights make the front of the truck look cluttered to me.

Well you are partially right about the reflector, but it depends on the light. Old school lights always had the same reflector but the different lense changed the pattern. Just look at the Halogen Rallye 4000 from Hella. The pencil is a clear lense, same reflector with some structure in the lense is the euro beam and with a lot of structure it turns into the cornering beam. the reflector is the exact same. (i had the apart, so I know).

On the newer lights with free form reflectors, all lenses are clear, so the difference is in the shape of the reflector.

On your old school daylighters, the lense makes the diferent pattern.

Here's what I'm running. Not quite as fancy but with 100w bulbs its more than bright enough for cruising logging roads at night.

So you did swap the cab to a 84 cab but retained the 78 front clip... did that just bolt up? I need to replace my cab and want to find a better one and swap it out, just curious on how well that worked with a newer 81-up cab.... thanks..

There were some minor differences but if you can handle a little bit of problem solving its not a big deal. I used my '78 wiring harness. I'm on a plane right now but I'll check your renderings later.

Thanks for the info. That´ll give me a better chance to find a good cab looking for more years than just 73-79.

My truck is all rewired anyways, with a painless performence harness. That is universal fit anyways.

Thanks! Well, the light bar (LED) looks great but doesn´t give me enough distance, that is why I need some kind of HID light in adition at least, to shine down the trail or road further. Therefore all these renderings! #4 is counted! Thanks again!

I'd go #8 ....I had big off roaders in front of my burb,lots of deer where i go camp
i bought 6 only used 4 ,
I wanted to put them on the roof but saw a roof get ripped open,went bumper
when i get time i'm gona put them on the jimmy

yup,huge difference,i used two switches,inside and outside wired together,
so i'd see far or wide,or both,to do it now i'd use relays for sure

I agree, you can never have enough lights at night! Makes it so much nicer when you can clearly see where you are going!

So decision is made: the OnX bar will be swiched to amber for bad weather and dust, the squadrons will stay the way they are, and I´ll add two Rallye 4000 compact HID´s to the bumper and then mount 5 of the big rallye 4000 HID´s on a roll bar or headache rack above the roof. That should be plenty of light!
