stalls when hard braking
70 250 l6. Rebuilt carb from orileys. Sometimes when making a less than perfect stop it will die. Starts right up and may not do it again. Won't do it on a easy stop. Vacuum advance is full vacuum. Any thoughts. I do have 2 fuel filters.

Float is set to high. Floods enough to kill it.

Re: stalls when hard braking
I figured it was float related. Makes the 3rd carb from orileys.

Re: stalls when hard braking
I tried 2 fuel filters once because I didn't have the money for a new tank at the time. I cleaned it out and it was still dirtying up filters, so I thought, hey, 2 would be a great idea to keep the car clean.
Not so much. Truck wouldn't run well. The stock pump couldn't pull enough fuel through 2 filters. Went back to one and she ran fine. Try getting rid of a filter and see what happens.

Re: stalls when hard braking
I know how to lower the float but having spent w bills for the carb they will make it right. With a warranty shouldn't gave to fix something 4 days old.

Re: stalls when hard braking
Oriley's stands being their stuff at least here. Will have a replacement at noon today. If it wasn't new I would have lowered the float. I think something that was "quality checked" should work. Thanks for the replies.
