Re: Weatherstripping ??????????
Dodge Dakota. I'm not sure of exact years but the early 90s generation (87-96?). It seems to work as well as the best new stuff, pushes on without adhesive, is readily available at most junkyards and is cheap. Almost everyone, regardless of brand, seems to have problems closing the doors for a while. Do a search and you'll get many suggestions to speed the break-in process. Most involve heat.

Re: Weatherstripping ??????????
I put Soft Seal weather-stripping in mine. The key is to clean the areas to install real good. I used brake clean and paint thinner to remove all the old adhesive and then wiped the areas with alcohol. Make sure to clean the new rubber real good also with alcohol. start in the upper corner where the pillar post transitions to the roof. go slow just about six inches at a time. I had no problems getting my doors to shut after. no more wind leaks going down the road.
Good Luck however you choose. |
