Re: If you are ever in the Phoenix area...

Tom, I wish I had known you were here, I could have gone with you. Livrat is right about Hidden valley, they have some old stuff down there and it's not that far away. Thirty miles here is not bad distance to travel. The $2.00 is for insurance.

Its about 30 miles from Phoenix, the last time I was there they had a good selection of our years of trucks.
I haven't been to either for many years, but hidden valley was alot more realistic. However, both yards were alot of fun to go through! Being from the land of rust, i couldn't believe i could buy a fender for my 68, go pull it myself with nothing more than a combination wrench and every bolt came out with no problems! The last time i was in desert valley i stumbled onto a green 67 that was quite rusty. I was somewhat surprised to see a rusty truck there. I walked around it and on the cowl was a dealer badge from swanson chevrolet in grand rapids MN!! (yes, my hometown)
Thanks for the pics tom.

Re: If you are ever in the Phoenix area...

Man you Phoenix guys are making me wish I had more time here. Sounds like some other opportunities to check out some classic salvage yard material.

Thanks for all of the tips and advise from everyone.

Take care,
Tom

Mike, if you want, send me a PM with your address. I may have some free time in the evenings to come over and talk trucks with you, if you have time.

Take care,
Tom

Watch out for those rattle snakes.........
I live w/i 10 min. of the place, only been there 1 time and i dont think i will go back. I e-mailed them about some parts and they give me a roundabout figure, but when i got there (e-mail in hand) the story had changed and so did the prices(i think they where higher than camel nachos). Heck i think would rather go see Tom K. out in east Mesa before i go back.
