60-66 assembly manual

I was just at a garage sale of sorts and found a 60-66 assembly manual. I've already got one but would be willing to let the one I found go. Is in good condition not tore up. First come first offered.

I AM NOT SELLING THIS. If you would like one or need one if you pay postage I will send it to you. Let me know address and will let you know shipping.

Mods. If this is not aloud then I understand. I'm not selling it I am simply offering it up to someone that may need one.

Re: 60-66 assembly manual

I'll take it if its an original GM manual, I'll scan it into a PDF and make it available to everyone on the board for free. The reprints are not too good, I have one of those. If its a reprint, pass it on to some else who can use it. The offer is very nice of you. Good luck on your projects.

I'll take it, even if it is a reprint. Very nice of you. This would be a great reference to have, for sure. Zip is 75126.

Oh no. If it was original gm one I'd be happy as hell! It's the reprint one you can buy at most 60-66 part places. And thanks

I'll see what shipping will be tomorrow. I think it will fit in one of those priority mail boxes the post office has. I post back tomorrow.

If your note in a rush, ship it book rate. Will take longer but save quite a bit on postage.

Re: 60-66 assembly manual

So, has nobody made a pdf of one of these already?
If not, I'd be willing to help out with the cost to get it to pdf and get it posted here.

Re: 60-66 assembly manual

Agree, reprint is pretty useless, and in some cases, I believe has wrong years info.
A lot of EBay sellers are bad too, knowing it is not very correct. They keeping changing their info to get away from the negative comments buyer submit on the reprint.

A real COMPLETE GM version would be a great help! Also would contribute to making one available for site users.

Re: 60-66 assembly manual

I agree that the reprint one are a little hard to look stuff up in and some times have to look in a few areas before you can know what to do. But after finding what you need they do help I feel.

I do agree that if anyone has or knows of a actual GM one it would be 100% better. But for now this one still has some good info.

Re: 60-66 assembly manual

I have a vast collection of 60-66 literature and we have a very healthy thread on the literature, but I have never seen an original copy or even a picture of one.

Re: 60-66 assembly manual

I just picked up a copy of the assembly manual at the Pomona Swapmeet. I'm not sure if there are different versions floating around but this one oddly does not include any index to find anything. I'm sure over time I will become very familiar with this book but I wish it had a means to look up information rather than thumbing through a few hundred pages every time.

That's the one everyone has... the 60-66 Assembly manual is not an official GM publication, from what I've read over the years. It's a compilation of part drawings that were from GM, that a vendor put together back in the 1980's or so, at least that is what a 'tribal elder' of old chevy trucks told me. I think Golden State Truck Parts originally assembled it, or at least that is the legend I've read.

If you notice the little boxes on each sheet, there are category numbers, the sheets are sort of roughly organized around an area of a truck.

I use post it notes to keep track of whatever I'm looking for that week.

It does leave a lot to be desired, as far as having useful things like page numbers and an index, but it will come in handy. The best way to get a feel for it is to just flip through it occasionally on a rainy day, it sorta makes sense the way it is somewhat organized.

For the folks that may wander into here in the future....

Thanks and yes I still need to locate the shop manual. The drawings in this assembly manual will come in handy and I've already been adding post-it notes. As far as flipping through it on a rainy day... here in California we've been in a terrible drought so I'll have to find the time elsewhere
