Push start

Has any done a push start setup with a carbed motor? if so how does it?

Why?

Button starters are no more of a fad than blacked out wheels or spoilers. I don't understand the appeal.

That of course is just my opinion.

I have a button on both my '74 Chevelle and my '63 Grand Prix. I added the switch to address hot start issues, which it seems to have taken care of.

It's essentially a "bump switch" (Moroso brand) wired to power and to the starter solenoid. I still have to move the ignition key to the "On" position but then push the switch to turn the engine over.

In both cases I mounted the switch inside the ashtray, in the location where the cigarette lighter used to be.
