Don't quote me 100% on this but if I recall it is 1/8 NPT It is a female on the gauge so your adapter will have to be 1/8 NPT male.

Hope this helps

Re: Quick One....Oil pressure gauge fitting

mine is actually a male fitting that will require a female adapter for the braided line. there is a small, copper retaining nut that keeps the gauge in place in the housing. I need to know the size of that retaining nut as the adapter will be the same size. I can probably back the nut off and take it to the hardware store tomorrow, I was just hoping someone might know off the top of their head. Thanks for the help.

Here are some photos of a NOS 60 lb oil pressure gauge. If I am following you correctly, the nut on the outside is to hold the gauge to the small tin. That is all the threads on the outer side are for.

The inside is where the factory line with the compression fitting /farrel nut would thread into.

If you found a fitting that would thread on the outside with the nut, there would be nothing to stop oil from leaking.

I hope this helps and I am following what you are asking for.

Re: Quick One....Oil pressure gauge fitting

just ran down to the garage, and now I am following completely, and yes you are correct....so you think that inside diameter is 1/8 NPT male to a 4 AN male fitting for the line?

Re: Quick One....Oil pressure gauge fitting

One of our site vendors Leon (LockDoc) makes these copper oil pressure lines. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=613373
The end with the compression nut threads into the factory gauge. Hope this helps.

Re: Quick One....Oil pressure gauge fitting

I looked for this same fitting and never could find it. I don't think it is pipe thread. I wanted to run braided line but just went with the copper line. I hope you can figure this out.

Here is a picture of the fitting that screws into the gauge. It isn't 1/8 inch pipe tread. I don't know of any other fitting that will fit it....

Here is the only way it could be done as far as I can see. If a person would order this fitting:

http://www.andysautosport.com/produc..._17982nos.html

And use this adapter that I made up (the small end fits the back of the gauge and the 1/8” pipe threads on the big end fit the 4-AN adapter that Andy’s Auto Sport sells, then your 4-AN oil line would screw into that. Maybe a person could find a cheaper Female 1/8” pipe to Female 4-AN fitting that didn’t swivel, I don’t know.

Re: Quick One....Oil pressure gauge fitting

I have some of the fittings that LockDoc posted. I bought them a while back from someone on this site.
